Open positions at GENITS project

The project is focused on application of machine learning for road transportation infrastructure and R&D of a digital twin of tunnel traffic based on a large set of historical data collected from traffic counters, cameras and other traffic sensors classifying vehicle types, and with modular integration into the operator interface, thus providing predictive insight into traffic behavior and anticipatory monitoring for safety-critical aspects of traffic management in tunnels.

Open positions are for two researcher with contracts up to 30 November 2028.

Interested candidates are invited to submit theri applications by e-mail to Vinko Lesic (vinko.lesic@fer.hr).

The call for open position is ongoing. Applications will be evaluated periodically at every 10th day of month, starting with 10-July-2026.

GENITS - Generational Improvement of Key Products in the Intelligent Transportation System

The project of development of a new generation of intelligent traffic systems (ITS) focuses on three complementary products: monitoring and management software CNUP, road traffic station CPS and color traffic displays SPZ. The systems use advanced algorithms, V2I communication and LPWAN sensor networks, allowing to increase the safety, efficiency and reliability of the transportation infrastructure. The products are designed for the global market, with expected growth in sales revenue by 20% and exports by 10%. The project encourages employment and research, includes a commercialization plan and technology transfer through R&D and licensing agreements, and generates new patents and FER scientific publications.

The project is carried out in close collaboration with company LED elektronika d.o.o., Croatian leader in the development, design, production, installation and maintenance of road electronics, telematics and LED lighting systems.

Sustavi koriste napredne algoritme, V2I komunikaciju i LPWAN senzorske mreže, omogućujući povećanje sigurnosti, učinkovitosti i pouzdanosti prometne infrastrukture. Projekt potiče zapošljavanje i istraživanje, uključuje plan komercijalizacije i transfer tehnologije putem ugovora o R&D i licenciranju, te generira nove patente i znanstvene publikacije FERa.
