At LARES, students work closely with their mentors to turn ideas and prototypes into recognised research results. Projects we identify as most promising are actively guided toward conference publications — and in some cases, even result in a patent. Below are selected examples of research outcomes that originated from student work or collaboration with students:
- Banjac, Anita; Prvonožec, Dorotea. Optimizing insulation thickness for energy and cost efficiency in residential buildings: A case study // Proceedings of the 2025 International Conference on Control, Decision and Information Technologies (CoDIT 2025). Split, Croatia.
- Bucić, Petra; Lešić, Vinko; Vašak, Mario. Distributed Optimal Batteries Charging Control for Heterogenous Electric Vehicles Fleet // Proceedings of the 26th Mediterranean Conference on Control and Automation (MED 2018). Zadar, Croatia.
- Martinčević, Anita; Vašak, Mario; Marušić, Danko; Kovačević, Borna. Sustav za detekciju začepljenja zrakom izmjenjivača topline ventilokonvektora — consensual patent PK20181196, 23.7.2018 – 27.7.2024 (link to patent).
Such achievements often open the door to further research within LARES projects, encouraging students to continue developing innovative solutions.
